Supporting relationships in reflexive movements in leadership and organisational research

Publikation: KonferencebidragPaperForskningpeer review

In order to support leadership in large, complex organisations, as qualitative researchers within these organisations, we need to expand our thinking and conversations to include both the more immediate, close to us, the local and, as well, the larger system, the global. The wider implications of organisational decisions and actions are much greater than is generally acknowledged, and we have an ethical-moral and professional responsibility to pay attention to this. Leadership and qualitative inquiry from a systemic social constructionist stance concern relationships, connections and relations, and the actions in these relationships have profound and long-lasting effects above and beyond the immediate context, i.e., the organisation. I am offering a systemic social constructionist perspective on reflexivity in leadership and organisational research, bringing forth a way of creating connections and supporting relationships between local and global contexts in organisations.
