Generel

At Lieutenant Colonel and director for Institute for Military Technology, Thomas Galasz Nielsen is in charge of the Royal Danish Defence College's research and teaching in the field of military technology. The teaching levels are at diploma and master level and focuses on the challenges and possibilities officers face and will face in modern combat because of technology influencing leadership, organization, and doctrines.
Thomas has been on international missions in Ex-Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, and Iraq and have worked as mission manager for Iraq and Sudan at Defence Command and Ministry level. He has also served as a teacher in tactics at the Royal Danish Army School and as a course director the same place. Before this, Thomas has served in various different assignments in the army from platoon level up to division level including being a squadron leader in an armor battalion.
From 2013-2016 Thomas was assigned to an independent Danish research organization, Danish Institute for International Studies, as a military researcher while studying at King's College London and receiving a Master of Arts in Wars in the Modern World.
